Ladies Igniting Change: Taraba Ladies Distributes Writing Materials In Secondary School To Promote Quality Education


Ladies Igniting Change (LIC) an initiative in Jalingo Taraba State on 3rd July distributed writing materials to the students of Government Day Secondary School Mallum in Ardo Kola local government area of the state. 

According to the Vice President of the initiative Miss Lilian Isaac who spoke to Jeremy Spell Blog said the program aims to promote quality education which is United Nations SDG 4, so there was a need to come together as ladies who are optimist to effect this change in the community, the initiative is chaired by Maureen Jesse Mafang who is the president and the project was handled by the Project Manager Mr. Ijudigal Philip Yaro.

The president Miss Maureen Jesse Mafang, who gave her introduction speech during the program expressed her zeal towards promoting quality education drawing her inspiration from her personal experience and how she struggled to get writing materials in school and during classes and she did not want any child to go through the same fate which she encountered years ago.

Before the presentation of the writing materials there was speech from the other members of the initiative and the teachers of the school, also some of the students who were handpicked to talk during the program express their delightfulness over the presence of the Ladies Igniting Change members. At the end the principal of the school gave her remarks. 


"I am delighted to see group of youths who are active and willing to make  change in the society.  I was delighted when I  got their letter, indeed this work is commendable. Thank you so much for impacting the lives of this generation, what you have done today today shall never be forgotten in the history of GDSS Mallum. Thank you so much and may God bless you"
