Taraba State government has raised the alarm over the irruption of some communities in Bali and Gassol original government areas of the state by cattle hummers from Cameroon.
It said the conditioning of the looters has heightened pressure and original occupants are at the entering end of the corsair’s rush.
The state Commissioner for information, Lois Emmanuel at a briefing Thursday, also dismissed rumors of an inter ethnical conflict in the affected communities.
She said, “Government’s findings indicate that the problem is a case of cattle rustling. Further information available to the government indicates that cattle hummers from neighboring Cameroon have raided several communities in the areas and are hanging lives and parcels, especially cattle belonging to the indigenous occupants.
“This development, naturally, has attracted resistance from the original occupants. It is, thus, not an inter-ethnic orintra-ethnic contest and clashes. ”
Explaining the significance of the two LGAs to the profitable survival of the state, she noted that they're among the most naturally endowed corridor of Taraba State, especially in agrarian yield.
“For this reason and further, they've been a natural magnet to non natives and other Nigerian dogging comfort and career in husbandry and other business conditioning.
“Culprits and social misfits aren't left out in the rush to these communities for profitable tone- food. In their case, they constantly exceed or outrightly abuse the boundaries of hospitality and accommodation offered by the indigenous people.
“The Internally Displaced Persons ’ camps haven't been spared by these visiting looters who occasionally kill, incapacitate and force women"
“The attempt by the indigenous people to thwart these trends is largely part of the issues presently at stake in the areas, ” she said.
She also explained that government sweats at discomfiting felonious conditioning have been wholesome to insure innocent people aren't affected.
According to her, “ It's for this reason that the involvement of castigators in containing the conditioning of the culprits is under the strict surveillance of security agencies"
“They're no way allowed to operate alone to help them from taking the laws into their hands. This benevolence and civility will remain the emphasis and focus of government intervention now and in the future in these areas and the state in general. ”
Emmanuel also informed that the safety of the lives and parcels of both locals and callers would remain precedence of the state government.
