Youth Making Impact Initiative, one of Nigeria's leading youth organizations based in Taraba has taken the lead with front-lining change through a flagship project tagged "YOUTH ENGAGEMENT DAY" which its members carried out in the Jalingo metropolis.
The project fulfilled its aim of mobilizing young people who engineered positive change and development in society through varieties of activities.
In this year's edition of the Youth Engagement Day (YED) project, driving the SDGs was focused on but not restricted to;
- Health
- Environment Hygiene
- Good learning environment and
- Collaborations and partnerships
Some activities that were carried out in the host Mayodassa community include;
- Community sanitation project with sensitization on communal hygiene
- A medical outreach with tests and observation of vital signs for hepatitis, HIV, and others with free dispensing of drugs
- Free haircut services for members of the community with the washing and treatment of hair for the ladies and donation of other materials.
It was a milestone as young people came out in mass to volunteer and beneficiaries expressed their appreciation for this kind gesture.
