Several members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Lau Local Government Area of Taraba State led by a former commissioner and local government chairman, Hon. Yohanna Y. Kinka and a former vice-chairman of Lau local government, Hon. Jebi has today defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Hon. Kinka told a mammoth crowd of APC faithful in Appawa town that the PDP which they belonged to and worked for has reneged on its promises, abandoned them and failed to protect the good people of Lau and Taraba State in general.
Speaking at the event which attracted the cream of the party in the area and beyond, Hon. Abdulhadi Haruna Lau, a former chairman of local government and former Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development in the state, said the move was a welcome development.
He also urged the defectors to support the party in bringing peace to Lau local government and work for the success of the party in the 2023 general elections.
Receiving the defectors, leader of the APC in Lau Local Government Area, Alhaji Musa Kwanchi, tasked them to be worthy ambassadors of the party. Alhaji Kwanchi, on behalf of the party, welcomed them to the APC family.
He equally tasked them to work for the success of the party in the 2023 general elections.
Highlights of the event were solidarity speeches and pledges of loyalty by the defectors.
