News Reaching us from David Sabo Kente Media says That Chief David Sabo Kente Political Organisation condemned in totality the Post Election unrest that has engulfed the State since after the announcement of the Gubernatorial election result on Tuesday.
DSK admonishes Politicians and their followers to be magnanimous in victory and defeat in order to uphold Unity, Peace and harmony among the citizenry. According to DSK, the state at the current stage of democracy should not be experiencing such unpatriotic acts during and after elections. DSK however, sends his condolence message to the families of those who were killed during the electoral violence, and also pray for God to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
No Taraban, including innocent youths, deserve to die for the sake of any man’s political ambition. Any politician who was sincerely interested in the progress of the young people should not be using them as cannon fodder for his or her ambition, adding that the youth deserved jobs, economic and social opportunities and not thuggery and death.
DSK faulted electoral violence that occurred in the just concluded governorship and state assembly poll inTaraba state and urged the citizens to live in peace with one another for unity and progress of the state. DSK while condemning the killings in the state said Nigeria at this stage of democracy should not be experiencing such dysfunctionality during elections. It is unfortunate that we lost our loved ones and many other Tarabans at post elections due to electoral violence. This is so unfortunate for us as a state and even for our democracy. We must move away from this primitive African psyche that demonizes loosing election as an act of failure instead of an opportunity for re-strategizing and re-inventing paths for progress. This dysfunctional mental construct will never help the development of our hard earned Democracy," he said.
He said: “The 2019 presidential/ National Assembly and Governorship/Assembly elections have come and gone. They were keenly contested and were largely free and fair. I believe strongly that in the modern school of democracy, there is no victor and vanquished in political outcomes. Victory belongs only to democracy and the people who are direct beneficiaries of democratic processes."said DSK.
Chief David Sabo Kente DSK congratulated President Buhari, the APC, the PDP, other parties and stakeholders for the roles they played during the elections. He also congratulated INEC for a credible elections, saying the country must strive for perfection in improving working standards and mechanisms of critical institutions like INEC in public interest. DSK also congratulate Nigerian people for keeping faith with our democracy and the electoral process which can only get better as we progress."It is our understanding that some areas were declared inconclusive-we hope INEC will do the needful and speedily re-conduct elections in those areas so we can move forward," he added.
"I urge Tarabans to remain peaceful and maintain the existing peace we have been enjoying so far in the state,’’ DSK said.
