The remains of Samaila Sabo Awudu, a National Youth Service Corps member, have been buried in Taraba State on Tuesday.
The deceased was posted from Adamawa to undergo his service year in Taraba before he was slain.
He was buried in his hometown, Gindin Dorowa, Wukari Local Government Area.
Speaking on the theme “Who are you living for,” the Pastor-in-Charge of Christian Reformed Church-Nigeria (CRC-N) in Gindin Dorowa, Rev. Philip Agbu, told the sympathizers that God brought each and everyone to earth for a purpose.
Stressing the need to live for God and strive to represent Him as death can visit anyone at any time, he said the late corps member had lived a life worthy of emulation.
Agbu lamented the high level of inhumanity in society and felt sad that the youths have surrendered themselves as agents for perpetrating evil.
Other sympathizers who spoke on the killing of Awudu vowed not to rest until the perpetrators are fished out and made to face the wrath of the law.
Also speaking, some of the deceased’s colleagues told our correspondent that he was one of the most promising and hardworking Corp members in their areas of primary assignment.
They urged security agencies to ensure those responsible for his death are brought to book.
With tears streaming down his eyes, the elder brother of the deceased, Ephraim Haruna Sabo, also urged security agencies to endeavor to work round the clock to track down the culprit.
Describing his late junior brother as an “easy-going brother who can not hurt a fly,” his demise, according to him, will no doubt negatively affect the family and the people of the community.
