Court Orders SSS To Release Mumuye Youth Leader, Ntari Danladi Hassan From Custody

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the DSS to immediately release Comrade  Ntari Danladi Hassan who is the National President of Mumuye Youths, one of the largest ethnic groups in Taraba State.

The Youth Leader was arrested by the DSS in his office at Mumuye House, Mile Six, Jalingo, Taraba State on the 6th day of May 2021 on allegations of having links with IPOB.

Justice A. I. Chikere made the order following the prayer by the Counsel to the Youth Leader, P. D. Pius, Esq, that his client be released unconditional. 

Ntari Danladi Hassan remand order has long expired since the 22nd day of September 2021 after spending over 6 months in detention without trial. 

The DSS has since been served with the court order.

According to reports gathered by Jeremy Spell Blog P. D. Pius, Esq, the lawyer to Youth Leader, informed TheNigerialawyer that he has been to DSS to receive his client but was told he will be contacted by the DSS legal department. 

“We are still waiting on the DSS to comply with the Court order,” he stated.
