Rev. (Hon.) Nagombe Joseph Titus, the coordinator NGADA Special Development Area in his efforts to ensure the people of NGADA strictly adhere to the precautionary measures towards containing the covid-19 was involved in touring one community of the area to another in order to enlighten the locals on the steps to be taken so as to avoid contracting and spreading of the virus.
The coordinator didn't only stop at enlightenment campaign but went further to encourage the people to engage in serious farming activities. According to him, the coronavirus pandemic would leave the world with serious famine which will come as the result of the drowning world economy following the lockdown measures imposed by countries across the globe towards containing the pandemic. He stated that the aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic would result to a serious hunger which will be more devastating than the covid-19 herself.
He however, expressed his optimism that with proper adherence to simple guidelines like: social distancing, regular hand-washing, the use of hand sanitizers, the use of facemask etc till the vaccine be developed and made available, covid-19 shall be the thing of the past with time.
During his inter-community tour on covid-19 enlightenment, the coordinator used the avenue to inspect some ongoing projects initiated by him. These include but not limited to the ongoing reconstruction of Bente Sama health clinic in Goh zone, construction of health center and one block of three classrooms with office and store each at Fali Kasuwa in Fala zone and Nyakwe in Jaako zone, Construction of town hall in Badakoshi in Goh zone and several other projects across the Development Area.
The coordinator week after week was also involved mobilizing and posting members of the vigilante group and the Taraba Marshall to the various entering points to NGADA where he mounted checkpoints to avoid illegal coming in of people into the area during the lockdown. During the mobilization exercise, Nagombe cited the exemplary pragmatic action taken by the state governor, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku by ordering for a total lockdown and closure of Taraba state boarders with Cameron and other neighbouring states in the federation, the action that has helped in the quarantine of some people coming to the state who were later tested positve to covid-19. He maintain the exercise up to the time of filling this report as he shuffles them from week to week.
In another Development, Nagombe saved a lady's life during his visits to the various communities in the area. This life-saving adventure occurred in Bente Sama in Goh zone. According to facts gathered, the lady was involved in a deliberate intake of poisonous substance in an effort to commit suicide following a dispute that ensued between her parents and her over the issue of her getting married or going to school. The coordinator, who served as the Messiah in this ill fated occurrence, happen to reach the area immediately after the y in question has taken the substance. He immediately ordered that the lady be rushed to Baissa for quick medical attention. His unsolicited intervention yielded positive result as the lady's life was eventually saved and he also footed the bills.
